Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his home with volunteering in the community. He is the youngest child from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Semon. They raised him on their farm in Eufala. Second football he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in nation by the Outland and Lombardi Awards. For three seasons as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma went 32- 1-1 and won two national championships. In his role as an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was given the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third season in 1975. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the University of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy spent ten hours every week in volunteer work throughout his time at college. He moved to Tampa following college. He playing for the Buccaneers for nine years and played three times in the all-pro league. The business venture he started began. He began his career in 1988. was working as an Account Relation Manager at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that, in 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top 10 young stars across the nation. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. While he was in college, he commanded the team of 1975. In 1993, Roy joined the university of south Florida's sports department as Director of Athletics as an associate. The College Football Hall of Fame was named for him in 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame In 1995. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Jr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
